Amish Paste

 

Heirloom paste tomato with very large, heart shaped fruit, meaty interior with very little juice or seeds. Prolific producer. Excellent flavour for sauces, catsup, purees, bruschetta and soups. 85 days to maturity. (Seeds from Richters, Goodwood, Ontario.)

 

Banana Leggs

 

A great success for several years. This heirloom variety with lacy foliage produces 4in. long yellow fruit that resembles a banana. Thick meaty flesh make it an excellent choice for paste, sauces, chilies, or eating raw.

Beefsteak

           

Mid-season, Indeterminate, Red, Large - Good old fashioned "real" tomato flavour is excellent for slicing, soups, sauces, baked and more. Large meaty, solid fruits. Mild sweet flavour. Big Beef

 

Mid-season, Indeterminate, Red, Italian Beefsteak variety, with excellent flavour and colour.

Large, juicy 10-12 ounce fruit are smooth, firm and meaty, with few seeds.

Mid-season, Indeterminate, Black - Medium sized dark red-brown fruits sometimes have green shoulders. Excellent smoky/salty flavour. Great in salads or straight off the vine.

Mid-season, Indeterminate, Black, Medium Size - Dark brown, very sweet fruit. Mild flavour is sweet and rich.

Mid-season, Indeterminate, Red - Excellent yields of good flavoured, average sized fruits.

A long time favourite. Clusters of medium sized deep red fruit are a uniform 8 oz. on this prolific and continuous producer.

Brandywine, Heirloom

 

Indeterminate - Amish heirloom beefsteal variety, this large pinkish creamy-fleshed tomato has a mild, sweet and exotic flavour. Fairly compact, with full ripening gradually over time. Maturity: 78-90 days. (Seed from Veseys, PEI.)

An early open pollinated variety. Dwarf plant habit produces medium size (4 to 5 oz.) fruit with firm fleshand deep red colour. Staking not necessary. Maturity 68 days from transplanting.

A hybrid mid to late season beefsteak tomato. Large, flavorful meaty fruit with few seeds. Determinate plant does not require staking. Maturity 70 days from transplanting.

 

Caspian Pink, Heirloom

 

An absolutely knockout, wonderfully marvelous flavor! This heirloom from Russia is large fruited, about 11 ounces, and somewhat flat. Fruit ripens from the bottom up, and by the time the shoulders have turned pink, the flesh is soft, succulent and juicy. A balanced taste that is mild and sweet. Plants are indeterminate and open-pollinated with normal leaves. Maturity 80 days.  (Seed from Veseys, PEI.)

           

Chateau Rose

 

Mid-season, Indeterminate, Pink, Medium Size - Fine, sweet and flavourful pink-red French variety. Crack and blemish free. Very productive; excellent flavour. A positively beautiful tomato. (Seeds from Upper Canada Seeds.)

 

Cherokee Purple

 

Indeterminate, Purple, Large - Fruits are a dusky rose colour and have a delicate, mild flavour. Good yields of 12 oz fruits. Dates from before 1890. (Seeds from Upper Canada Seeds.)

This attractive determinate golden hybrid tomato produces sweet, juicy tomatoes with low acid flavor.

Golden Girl yields beautiful round tomatoes that are large and weigh between 7 and 8 oz.

Ildi

Non-staking - The bright red plum shaped fruits contain very few seeds. Exceptional paste type tomato is great for

Extra sweet cherry tomato produces 1” fruits in cluster on long branches.

Great in preserves (no additional sugar required) or eaten fresh from the garden.

Tiny Tim
